Panel Guidelines

Sucessful Panel authors are resposnible for the the following:
  • Serve as a the panel moderatoror or appoint one
  • Develop fliers to adverstise the panel to conference attendees
  • Invite panelists and attendees
  • Develop the panel sturcture and guidelines
  • Develop the panel agenda

The organizing committee will provide the following assistance to the panel organiser:
  • Publish the panel information on the Website
  • Include the panel venues in the final conference agenda
  • Provide refreshments if needed
  • Provide support for the panle registration if neccesaary

Proposals to organize symposia, mini-workshops, or panel discussions on topics related to the conference theme are invited for the 2024 Pan-African Artificial Intelligence and Smart Systems (PA-AI&SS) conference. These companion conference activities, typically involving several panelists or presenters are organized around a specific topic of interest to artificial intelligence and smart systems, broad enough appeal to generate large audiences at the meeting community. Potential topics could be an in-depth discussion of an emerging AI technology or algorithm, AI ethics, AI research funding, Blockchain, and AI, to name but a few. Proposals that explore interdisciplinary connections of AI with areas of African culture, social natural science, and endogenous knowledge processing are also welcomed. The organizer of these events is responsible for the complete management, advertisement, agenda, and registration of the event, which will be co-located in the main conference location.

Proposal Format
  • Each submission, which should not be more than 3 pages in total, should include the following:
  • Panel title.
  • Organizer (Name, institution, email). This person is the point of contact for the session and is responsible for communicating with speakers.
  • Co-organizers (Name, institution, and email for each).
  • The Narrative should include the following;
A. a short (< 400 words) description of the tutorial, panel discussion, or mini-workshop-: Should focus on the theme of the session.
  • B. Event justification (< 250 words):
  • The organizers should justify the benefit of the event to the conference and provide an estimate of the anticipated attendees

Submission
Potential organizers of this category of the PAI-AI&SS-24 conference should submit their proposals in PDF format in the form of an email attachment to the following address:
